I'm redoin my 5 gallon tank and I don't know whether to put a kinda forest background on or just a ocean background. The ocean looks brighter, and the substrate is goin to be sand. But I'm not sure which to pick.

Any suggestions would be good, thanks.

What's in your tank? Personally, I just have a gradiated blue background on my five gallon. Of course, I also have quite a few plants that should fill in nicely in the future.

You want something that actually stays in the background, not a focal point. Try to go with the theme of your tank, if you have one.

When it comes to backgrounds, go with the one YOU like best. As long as it is not a show tank, your opinion is the only one that counts.

The problem with asking for other people's opinions is just they, they are opinions. What other people like, you might not. The choice is all up to you.

now, having said that, i would like an all blue or black background.
