I decided I was tired of looking at a nearly empty tank]http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/skeletaljosh/detail?.dir=e3e8&.dnm=2e8c.jpg&.src=ph[/link] and that my fish probably weren't thrilled with it either so [link=this is what I decided to do about it.
Right now, I'm going to wait a little while and see how these plants grow (my last ones never really did anything) and if necessary I'll add more. I think I want to end up with a med-heavily planted tank.
I'd like to get some suggestions as to possible better arrangements or additions.
Thanks!

Skeletaljosh,

For sure starting to look better

The Amazon Sword might get a little too big for your tank though. It will fit, but it will draw all the attention.

What green plant cover is that on your bogwood? You don't list any moss in your profile, is that algae?

Hey
I'm not too worried about the amazon, it hasn't been growing over the last couple months and I don't expect it to anytime soon (it's not dying, it's just not growing ).
The green on the wood is just algae. I'd like to find some moss for it, but I haven't been able to yet (any of you DC area people know any good stores for plants?)

Just a few quick questions:

What is your light situation on the tank?
Do you use any form of fertilizer for your plants?
Do you have a substarte fertilizer?

Ah, now I'm feeling like I should've posted this in the planted section

My lighting:
40 watts: 1 powerglo (10,000K), 1 nutrigrow (??K)

Ferts:
I've been using Flourish tabs, Flourish excel, and tetra's florapride (to be replaced by Flourish after it's gone).

Substrate:
Eco-complete with natural gravel on top.

Sorry, I should've put all that in the original message

All sounds very good, except for one thing:

Lights! You have just a little over 1wpg. That might explain why you have very limited growth and why your algae is a happy camper .

Are you planning on upping the wattage?

Ingo

EDIT: You post is just fine in Aquascaping, as you want to create a scape, don't you?

I don't really plan on increasing the wattage right now. I had gone with those bulbs due to a lfs guy's 'personal recipe' for growing plants (he was a proponent of high lumens, not high wattage).
If I get the money, I'll probably think about switching to some compact flourescents, but for now I'm trying out low-light plants (the new ones I just added) to see how they do.
