Any ideas?? The sand stays- theres some small apons/crypts/ lotus in , on and around the driftwood. An amazon sword just off center, and whats left of the wisteria in the right corner. Ive got about 2- 2.5 wpg of light Any ideas?? http://photobucket.com/albums/y8/Hollyca75/? |

In any case, they'll grow tall so they'll fill a lot of space, they'll multiply like mad, and they're rooted so they won't get ripped up by unruly fish, unlike stem plants. |

I completely ripped all the wisteria out of the left, and about 1/2 out of the right, then cut down what was remaining on the right down by about 1/2. It was a jungle, and I like the jungle look, but tired of the wisteria. Id like some suggestions on replacing it with 2-3 different types of plants, that will grow in sand, and not be dugg up by the dojos every night. |

We don't plant our tanks that have dojos in them. It proved to be all in vain. He just unplants them for us. |

hca Fish Addict Posts: 783 Kudos: 434 Votes: 211 Registered: 06-Mar-2004 | well me and my dojos Do have issues with the other plants, I;m slowly solving that by stapling everything down that gets uprooted. If I cant staple it down to wood, it gets weights, and planted in a saucer , then peblles on top, then covered in sand...... The lotus got dug up last week and i found a tangled mess in the am, had to cut them all back cuz i couldnt untangle them, Whats in the pict is about a weeks worth of growth. they are now stapled down to the wood also( most anyway.....) yeah I know its probably pointless with the dojos, but I love 'em, and my plants, I just want to find a happy medium somewhere... |

Most plants (IME) dont' do well in sand, and concidering you've got the dojos digging everything up then I'd go with a full grown java fern. They spread out quite a bit and will fill in the sides nicely. ^_^ |
