This first pic is the original setup in a 6g. The crabs have gotten very popular here, especially with the spouse so I decided to switch to a larger tank.

And here is what I've been doing this morning. The piece of driftwood on the bottom is new. I want to have just java fern in the tank.

I need to get an extension for the filter intake and then I can lower the water level a bit more.

The tank will start off with 4 fiddlers and 2 bumblebee gobies. I've learned that the crabs really won't bother fish; I've had them with both mollies and the bees without any problems at all.

Okay I gotta ask...I kept trying to figure it out for myself...but what's holding that one piece of wood right infront of the filter up .
kmpaton, I used to think the water trickle would drive me too...but it doesnt...my indoor "pond" has quite a fall from the filter, and is running quite a large filter @that....it really doesn't bug me...it's more calming than anything.

Well, I suppose if the trickling water was really driving you nuts, you could get a piece of driftwood and place it so that the water cascades down it. *shrugs*

Babel - I think it's cork? It floats... I don't know much about paludariums, but I think that's what it is. *shrugs*

I like... very nifty tank!

*squints*

That might be it ...I was thinking it looked rather barky in the first one :%).

Theresa, what about some vals to hide the heater? as they grow up and across the tank it might make for a rather neat effect? The java ferns could act as foreground plants for now till they grow in some more...
