hey guys,i was at my lsf yesterday, and i came home with 3 new snails,2 large 1s,and 1 tiny lttle black 1,i know nothing about snails at all,but so far thw 2 biger 1s seem fine, they have checked at the huge dw with the anubias on it,i had no idea, that they move quite fast for snail..also man do they clean, and they dont leave 1 mark on any plants, the tiny little fella,i think he is hiding in amoungst the complex root system coming down over the dw from the anubias plant..so any tip guys..or these guys mostly take care of themselfs,oh and do they have to have there own source of food,or they will be ok getting scraps...

do you know what kind of snail they are?
if they are large columbian rams they could eat your plants, but if they are jsut cleaning the leaves then you should be ok... aounds like you probably have some cannas or applesnails...

apple sanil,i found pics on the web last nite,1 has settled in real well, but the other 1 hasnt,he isnt fery active, but the 1 witch settled in fine,he never stops moving and cleaning, they are pretty cool to watch too, they have both called the huge anubias plant on dw home, its amazes me how easy they glide across ruff surfaces, and you should see how fast and easy he goes from the gravel,up onto the dw,then over the roots, theu up a skinny stem, rite up onto the top leaves witch is where he sits when hes not moving.now the 1 thats not real active,i actully havent seen him move yet, like he does move around the tank, but it must be a night, because he dont move a mussel during the day.the tiny little black snail i got,he was free just cause he was in the net when the 2 apple snails were neted,he is hiding somewhere,i think in amoungst all the roots from the anubias
