I want a scavenger catfish for my 75g to clean up any uneaten food. I know cories and loaches fit the bill but I want to conserve tank space and not use it on another school. Basically Im looking for a 4"-5" bottom feeder that isn't social and is safe with small tetras.

Pretty much any catfish that size that isn't a cory or pleco is going to feast on those small tetras...

Banjo cats will indeed eat small fish if they have the opportunity. They have huge mouths.

Bristlenoses are plecos and aren't really good scavengers.

Banjo cats will most definitely eat small fish.

You could try one of the riverine Synodontis species. Many of them get larger than 4", but they also have small mouths and are not very predatory. There is also Synodontis nigriventris, which gets about 3" long and is a goot scavenger.

a pictus cat is a pretty good scavenger but they can get pretty predatory when they got older i think...

I would do a Rafael Cat. They will not go after tetras. Smaller side would be the spotted ones, larger fish would be the striped.

But if I'm not mistaken, don't the spotted ones tend to be more predatory than the striped ones?

The Syno Cory addict suggested is an upside down catfish. These would not eat your small fish.

Yes, I would say Upside Down Cat, or Imitator Catfish. Those guys are so cool.
How about a Whiptail Cat?

I know what the syno that cory suggested is but Im trying for a SA biotope. If I didn't care about that then there are tons of synos that would be good. What corie species would you suggest Cory Addict. I was looking at Julis the other day and they seemed good. There isn't much around here for different species its mostly emerald, albino, pandas, and mixed cories. I saw a price tag for some pygmy cories the other day but didn't see any in the tank. I may try to get the pygmies since they're small and I would be cool to see a bunch of little missles flying around the bottom.

Actually, Corydoras pygmaeus would spend most of its time in midwater. In the wild it shoals with a Characin species - safety in numbers and all that.
