What size tank? Guessing if you have those two fish you already have a pretty hefty sized tank?

Any large pleco would be suitable.
I wonder if 250g is large enough for the
channel cat though...some of these fish can
get huge, depending on species.

If its ok then maybe a cool pleco would be something
like the Leporicanthicus Galaxias - the toothnose or vampire pleco - which grow to about 12 inches,
or the red beacon pleco, which grow to about 18 inches.
Many large plecos are very very attractive.
Check on the website

for more interesting plecos.

250 gallons? Hmm, wide choice available if there are only two fishes in there at the moment.

However, one Genus I would avoid is the Genus Acanthicus, as these grow to be too big even for a 250 gallon! Acanthicus adonis and Acanthicus hystrix are metre-long behemoths that need a MINIMUM of 500 gallons when adult! Do not even THINK about obtaining one of these until you have an aquarium large enough for you to swim in!

Other than that, you could go for one of the big Panaque species, as you would have space for one of those in a 250. Some of these reach 2 feet in length though, so make sure the fish has space to turn around in if you choose one of these! Panaque cochliodon is a 12 inch fish, or you could,m if you had the space, go for a giant in the form of Megalancistrus parananus, otherwise known as L113, a 24 inch monster that would be reasonably happy in 250 gallons and up. If you want a real oddball, how about this one -= a tongue twister called Isorineloricaria spinosissima, which is a beast ... take a peek at the Planet Catfish Page for this fish!

Keep an eye on the big ones - quite a few of them are territorial, and with the body mass that some of them haul around, they can inflict quite a bit of damage if they're so minded ...
