I would only want a few of them.

Just so I can get a breeding pair from them and go from there.

Where would you think would be the best place to look???

I like on the sunshine coast in Queensland. Travel to Brisbane a bit so could look there as well???

Woah thats more expensive than Trans...I got 3 2.5cm Albinos for $100! I think $95 is the most I've seen in Sydney! If you arnt able to find any, I can always hook you up with some breeders and see if they can help you out. But, your best deal would be SLS down in Kingsford...they got everything! From rare Plecos to nice show bettas! IMO, SLS is the best lfs in Sydney as they can get a wide variety of fish.

You can get albino bn at Auburn Aquariums for $AU95, but they are only about 2cm. Otherwise try Riverside at Campsie, they have a lot of rare South American catfish.

I live on the sunshine coast aswell
and have found a few local breeders which sell
normal bristlenose at $4 (3-4cm)
Peppermints $30 at (3-4 cm)
sometimes rarely albinos are for sale 4 $50 or more at (3-4 cm each

Try the Mooloolaba aquarium and avairy centre.
they some times have rare locarids come in at time to time.
I just missed out on a zebra plec 4 $280 Quite cheap for aus.

Best would to ask around your area and see if any breeders have them for sale. Here in Sydney there are quite a number of breeders. I just got quotes $15/cm on the albinos.

Yep. Definately in Aus. Im getting 3 babies 3-4cm @ $35 each. Aquariums sell them at about $60-80 each (3-4cm) and Local are $35 each for 3-4cm. Its not common...but say if you want 100 tomorrow...i can get them for you.

Apparently Ive seen more albinos for sale at lfs than the peppermints.

Zebras need a lot of paperwork to be imported, but as far as owning, they're perfectly legal--just, costly.

Also, Shannen hit the nail on the head; full grown pairs bring in a good amount of money. I sold my pair and several fry for 100 bucks USD (mind you, these aren't albinos, rather, they were L-144s). Therefore, if you get any indivduals, you should go for smaller ones.

Yes they are quite common here in the States. We have 9 of them, 6 are babies and are growing out right now.

Full-grown males can go for a pretty steep price. I paid almost 40 USD for our first one.

They are common but still not seen very often in any LFS that I've visited, and I travel up and down the eastcoast.

We got the 6 babies off of aquabid, for about 12 bucks I think.

Aren’t zebras illegal to import or own in Aus?

well...they are not "common" in Aus here due to strict regulation on plecs here, if u can see one it will demand a higher price.

I can't remember exactly how much but over $100AUD for sure(possibly a lot higher, consider a zebra plec will be $1800 here), and it will be tiny, like 3 cm or even smaller

I couldn't tell you, since I've never lived in Australia. However, I do know that the pleco selection there is somewhat limited, even with some of the more commonly found plecs. Though albino BNs are usually easy to find, it may not be the case over there. If you can’t find any, there are tons of albino BNs available on the Internet. If you really want one, you can just order it.

There certainly is an albino version, and a long-finned albino bristlenose as well. They are often available where normally-colored BNs are sold, as they are quite common. You shouldn't have problems finding them in a store, or at least ordering them online.

Yes there is an albino version of the bristlenose. I know aquabid has them up for auction.
