Not even close--they aren't ancistrids.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't include much info did I? :-X

Well, they are decent algae eaters of the pterygoplicthys (spelling?) which, like our friend p. pardalis (as Cory mentioned), grow pretty damn big when compared to most ancistrinaes, excluding [pseud]acanthicus.

Though, might I ask why you'd express interest in an albino specimen? In their true colors, rhinos are probably the prettiest fish of the genus.

They are chocolate/rhino plecos, only albino. They still grow to the same enormous proportions, about 18" long, and need an enormous tank to match.

That's strange. None of the chocolate plecs in my area are Rhino Plecs... They're all these things that look like Albino Common Plecs except with a brown tinge. Having kept a Rhino Plec I know they look quite different.

Those are rhinos, I believe. Though I've never had a scrophus long enough to watch it hit 20", I have raised several small specimens from about 3" until they started to crowd my 75 gallon. IME, they tend to stay rather pale whilst young, marble up, and eventually fill in the pale spots to develop the luscious dark brown that they're renowned for.

Umm... "Chocolate pleco", and "rhino pleco" are just different common names for the same fish, Milton.

I have what is called a "Chocolate Pleco" around my area ....

and he's a variety of a common pleco. Although I would not call it an albino Is this similar to what you're talking about? This guy is expected to get just as large as my other common plec.[/font]

Yep, that's an albino chocolate pleco - Pterygoplichthys scrophus. They are not common plecos, Pterygoplichthys pardalis, but are very closely related. Pterygoplichthys scrophus is the only species bred into the albino form with any regularity.
