Will an albino chocolate pleco eat my aquarium plants? I had a bristlenose pleco before I moved (couldn't bring him along) that of course didn't eat my plants. Was wondering if an albino chocolate pleco would? I know a common pleco will. The girl at petsmart (speaking of which...) said that all plecos would eat plants. Well I know thats not true, so I figured I would get a correct answer on here. I really miss having my pleco! I got my bristlenose online from aquariumfish.net and he was SO healthy and great, but I just dont have the money to order online any time in the near future. Those darn shipping costs!
Thanks,
Lauren

Hi there,
Albino Chocolate plecos are also common
plecos....the gibbiceps pleco.
Depending on the tank size, this fish may
not work for you, they grow to 18-24 inches.

And I do believe they eat some plant material.

The girl at petsmart is wrong, not all plecos
eat plants, most dont.
Id recommend a smaller pleco, bristlenose,
rubbernose, pitbull, etc depending on tank size.

Thanks. The problem I have is accessability. It is hard to find the less common types of plecos around here. I guess I'll wait until I have the money to order online.

Check for aquarium clubs/societies
in your area. Im betting there is one,
and local people are always finding, selling,
buying and trading.
Also, have you tried asking the LFS to order
in something specific for you?
