My 29 gallon tank is still pretty much a work in progress. I haven't even finished stocking it yet. My plan was to have:
2 German rams (Male/Female pair)
7 lemon tetras
1 bristlenose
6 longnosed cories

I currently have them all except for a female ram, and one cory. My question is, would it be okay to add another shoal of cories? I do 25% water changes once a week like clockwork (occasionally more than one), I have a good filter (rated for up to 60 gallons, I believe), and good oxygenation. I know that cories don't produce much waste, and I know that I won't have any compatibility problems. So, would adding six more cories be all right? I really love these catfish.

IMO, yes. However, I think you'd find you enjoyed the cories even more if you added 4-6 of the long-noses instead of 6 of some new species. I know I prefer cories in big packs, not little groups that rarely associate.

You should be fine, but I would try to stay with some of the smaller species. It's not so much a stock issue as it is a space.

Things might get crowded with the bigger species.

I agree with LittleMousling on this, while you may be able to add a few more I'd keep it with the same species. Even in the hands of those that have been in the hobby for along time a 29 has been known to go bad. So I wouldnt' plan on a second species.

I thought of that. The problem is, the store I bought the longnosed cories from may not have any more. I can't trust that they will continue to stock this fish, especially since I recently bought the last ones that they had.

This store? I dunno. However, I wouldn't want to buy fish from them again, or at least not cories. The only times I have bought cories from this store, at least some of them have been sick. Last time, it was mouth fungus. Now, it appears to be some sort of infection. I don't want to buy sick fish, so I will wait for the only trustworthy store near me to get some cool cories. They don't usually have many in stock, but sometimes they get loads of them.

Why don't you get a shoal of Pygmy's they're fantastic to watch and tiny too so wouldn't impact too much on bio load...they're my favourites.

Yes, a school of like 8 pygmies would be excellent. They would behave more like another school tetras than a group of regular corys.
