So in my tank at the moment I have 2 fully grown angels (who are a breeding pair and can get a bit agressive when doing so) 5 x-ray tetras 1 bristlenose plec This is in a 48"*16"(wide)*20" tall, got a fluval 304 on it and sand. So next sunday I'm gonna go get some more fish, probably some more x-ray tetras to make up the school, but I'm after some more bottom feeders. I'd quite like some cories, but if anyone has any other bottom feeders from s-america that they'd like to suggest i'm open. So any suggestions? Cheers Jonny |

They are pretty active and do a wonderful job at cleaning up the falen flakes. I also have some X-Rays in the same tank and don't have any problems with the 2. The pepper Cories get to about 3" when full size and have a nice glimmer when the light hits them just right. I hear alot of people alos say to get Panda Cories as they are pretty good. Both types are fairly easy to take care of and seem to be pretty hardy for being cories. Just my thoughts for ya. Live life to it's fullest |

If you just want some kind of interesting bottom feeder, not from South America, yoyo loaches are fun to watch. Mine zoom around my 55g tank and play with each other. They chase each other and do synchronized swimming sometimes. Very fun to watch...much more entertaining than my cories. ![]() If you are going to stick with the SA theme though, I think cories are your best bet. I also have albino cories and they are very active. My pandas hide alot, but the albinos are usually out all the time. In that big of a tank, you could easily have 8-10. The most cories I've had at one time is 6 (of one type), so I'm sure if you have a big group of one type, they will be much more secure and play more. |

Nicer, or oddball-ish? If that is the case, there are a bunch you can check out: C. gossei C. seussi C. similis C. adolfoi and lookalikes C. arcuatus C. robineae Any of the "laser/lazer" cories There are many others, but this is just a start. I wouldn't call any of these rare, but they're not the same as the cories everybody else has. ![]() |

However all the species you suggested don't seem to have pictures on their profiles here ![]() Think i might just end up getting some more C.Gomezi, depends of the financial situation really lol. |

There were some very nice looking cories that i can't remember the name of now but they were rather expensive lol. |

I love my pepper cories and am sure you will like yours also. I have a blast watching them. Mine tend to be more active in the morning and late evenings. I even have one that enjoys sitting on top of my powerhead during the day time. They sure have personality. Live life to it's fullest |
