Awesome.

I find that the most common species that constitute "Assorted Corys" (] are the spotted species such as Corydoras leucomelas, Corydoras schwartzi, Corydoras melanistus, Corydoras delphax, Corydoras ambiacus, and Corydoras agassizi. Occasionally you will also find Corydoras trilineatus under this label, but more often they are sold as Juliis.

Panda and arched cories aren't usually sold under the "assorted Corydoras" label, because they are easily distinguished from other cories. If you can find them though, that's cool. It's just that stores can sell them for more than an "assorted" cory.

I find that (as the others have said) C. aeneus, C. leucomelas, C. melanistius, C. ambiacus, C. delphax, and even C. trilineatus are the most often-seen assorted cories in my area.

Aeneus, paleatus, agassizi, and schwartzi are the most common around here. However, I have gotten sterbai, similis, reticulatus, metae, panda, and bilineatus (maybe) out of those tanks. Personally, I think they're a lot of fun, since they're cheaper than any other cories around here. You can sometimes find some incredible deals (sterbai for $2.50 each!) or even just something that isn't seen much (reticulatus).

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

Basically, I'd group together assorted "lookalike" Corys into suitably chosen groups, and annotate them accordingly.

The spotted Corys alone will fill a LARGE group - last time I checked, there were something like 41 species that could be described loosely as 'spotted Corys' that looked similar enough to cause identification headaches, divided into groups according to whether or not they have big black dorsal blotches or other similar features. Then there's the elegans/nanus group, which compprises a number of similar species, and then there's the fun of telling metae and emlini apart. And, now, Pandas have the recently added amandajanea to be confused with! Admittedly there are relatively easy ways of telling Pandas apart from amandajanea, but given the way dealers can confuse some species that quite frankly should not be confused (agassizii gets to be used as a 'catch-all' name here in the UK for ALL sorts of spotted Corys, some of which look NOTHING like the genuine article) it would be prudent to include this pairing.

I got some cories last night. I looked at the tank and immediatley knew the were schwartzi. I got 6 of them. Even though before I got them they pulled 2 dead ones out. There in the 20g QT tank for the next month for now.
