I have noticed that 2 of my 4 BN's have had a slight dis-colourisation on their skin. It appears as a lighter shade in a circular pattern. One of the 4 has bitten the dust. They all appear healthy and active.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

There is much variability between coloration among loricariids. I am somewhat worried, though, as you say that one has already died.

What are you feeding them?

I may be wrong, but the first thing that pops in my mind is not being fed at all.

It looks like it's skin is "washed out" I have been monitoring it over the last few days and it appears to come and go. Is this normal? It also appears to be symnetrical - ie. the same on either side of the fish.

As far as food goes I have been feeding them a variety. Every other day a slice of zucchini or tomato. There is also a fair amount of algea on the rear of the tank which they have cleaned up pretty quick.

The corys get some sinking pellets which the BN's get into sometimes and I have also seen them eat the odd bloodworm.

Mine only appear washed out when sick to be honest. Food deprivation would also cause it as does stress. What size tank are they in and what are the tank-mates? Corys are pretty good at going after the food where bristlnoses will shy back a bit, are they getting enough to eat?
