I've just came back from shopping and decided to tank a photo of my tank, but instead I noticed my BN in the back of the corner with a small batch of eggs! I just randomly bought 2 baby BN. They are about 2inchs long and both look like females IMO, but they actually layed eggs Can some please give me some info on how to take care of the eggs? My tank is planted with guppies and Corys and 2 BN.

Steve

Are the babies going to be big enough to eat algae wafers?

BNs usually like to spawn in or under a structure. If the eggs/fry are exposed, put something over or near them, like an overturned flowerpot, a coconut shell, pvc pipe, etc. The male will usually be the one to tend to the spawn, which will use their orange yolk sac for the first few days. You can break up an algae wafer, and drop it in near them for food. Algae, of course, will also be consumed, and you can try veggies, too. Make sure you keep the water clean and well oxygenated. If this is a community tank expect most of the fry to be eaten. Plants such as Java Moss can provide some cover for the fry. Good luck to you!

live aquaria.com says to feed the fry with mashed and peeled peas. and if you want them to live make sure you seperate them into another tank after they hatch
