If the eggs/fry are exposed, put something over or near them, like an overturned flowerpot, a coconut shell, pvc pipe, etc. The male will usually be the one to tend to the spawn, which will use their orange yolk sac for the first few days. You can break up an algae wafer, and drop it in near them for food. Algae, of course, will also be consumed, and you can try veggies, too. Make sure you keep the water clean and well oxygenated. If this is a community tank expect most of the fry to be eaten. Plants such as Java Moss can provide some cover for the fry. Good luck to you! |
