These are pretty cool, so uh what would be the min. tank size to keep one in(or more)

A flat tank would be better for these guys, correct?

Um...'flat' tank?

You can easily keep a pair in a 15 gallon.....I have about 10 in a 40 wide. They are also fairly slow-growers.

Um...'flat' tank?

Like a short tank, standard 20gallon vs. 20 gallon long

yep they don't need high tanks, but it doesn't hurt them if they are kept in 1. i keep mine in a 'high' tank but that is because they are in my community with other fish
i wouldn't hesitate to keep 1 in a 10g tho. banjos are a great fish

I don't know, don't they get to be like 5 inches, which would be like, a third of a ten gallon, lengthwise (not exactly, but almost)? Maybe I'm just imagining things.

Yeah, I was thinking that too, but they are also uber-inactive

one more question I just thought up...is it possible to keep leaf litter in an aquarium for these guys?(besides sand)

i see your point Klee, but as Me said they are highly inactive, and if my math is correct 24/5 =4.8, and thats not a third of a tank, or is imperial messing with me?*shakes fist at non-metric ways*
anyways i wouldn't keep a single banjo because i like to watch their interactions and with leaf-litter, they are found in it in the wild, so it will be fine, im not sure what leaves to use though, you better get tortis onto that

I use sand. Leaf-litter is nice, but has to be monitored and regularly removed and replaced as it begins to degrade.

i got 4 of them 3 females one male. in 150 gallon tank. with very light substrate.they spend most of there time underground and come out when they smell food or at night. great at stiring up the gravel and good scavangers. becareful if you gravel vac or plant or do anythignwith the gravel or sand because they can burrow pretty deep and you might hurt them especially since they play dead when you touch them. you might accendently cut them
