Pity I never took a photograph of the Acanthicus adonis owned by the late Ted Derrick of our local aquarist society. It was almost full sized. When he exhibited it at fish shows, it took four people to lift the adonis and the acrylic show tank into place on the judging benches.

Don't know who has it now. Doubtless if any of the UK Board members do the rounds of catfish shows here in the UK, they'll encounter the beast. Bit difficult to miss a 3 foot Plec.

bloody big fish - but do take into account that old angler's trick of holding the fish way in front of you - look at the guy's hands to put it a bit more in perspective (god, i'm such a spoilsport...)

Pity I can't find the picture of Pseudacanthicus histrix I saw once (out of a guide book, I think?). That fish was absolutely ginormous. That Panaque is colossal indeed, but they come larger.
