The knifefish are predators, but they generally leave catfish alone due to their body armor and sharp spines. Keep the BGK well-fed and there shouldn't be any problems. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Growth rates of BGKs seem to vary from one to another. Some can be very fast growing, from 10cms to 35cms in a year as is the case with my now largest BGK to around half of that.
