Hey all...out of the below-mentioned corydoras species, can anyone here kindly tell me which are from a blackwater biotope?

I have bought this "Blackwater essence" product, which apparently reproduces the blackwater biotope (ie soft and acidic, which also turns the water brownish in colour). Thing is, I'm not sure whcih of my cory species requires it?

No species requires it to survive in a tank but most like it or might even prefer it. Blackwater extract is just an expensive form of peat filtering. It has all the same things you get from adding peat to your filter but in a concentrated liquid form. Unfortunately the liquid form also leaves the water quite easily and any carbon will remove the color completely. Driftwood and peat moss or peat granules are a much more effective and cheaper way to get the same effect.

Yeah, none of those fish actually need blackwater extract or even peat filtering, if that's why you were asking. Corydoras are usually pretty adaptable, especially if they are kept in a nice clean tank where they live unstressed by nitrates and the like.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."
