My cories are doing just fine. They aren't hiding at all today and they seem very happy . I am going to go get 2 more today.

Wish I could find different types of cories around here. All I've ever seen is bronze, panda ( albeit i love panda's ) and emerald and the occassional albino.

I really want parallelus =(

Well I live in St. Catharines, Ontario. They were 3.88 (canadian) each! This lfs I went to had only albino cories and the blue cories in stock.

I feed my cories the Wardley's sinking algae wafers as a treat, and they go bananas over them! It probably depends on the cories, as to what they'll like to eat, but most cories will gobble up anything that falls their way.

I use the Hikari Algae wafers (the ones with the royal pleco on the front), and my corys love them. But that is because the main ingredient in them is fish meal. They won't touch the Wardley algae wafers though, which really are made of algae.

nutrafin also makes a sinking tablet for "bottom feeders and invertebrates". Corys also enjoy wardley algae wafers, tubifex, and well pretty much any food that gets down there!

No, they aren't algae wafers. I use the brand Hakari, and on the package it simply says 'sinking wafers.' It also says 'made for catfish, loaches and bottom feeders.' It has a picture of Corydoras trilineatus on it. You'll find it or something similar.

Well I should head on down to the lfs to pick up some treats since I really dont have any treats for them except free dried blood worms. By sinking wafers did you mean sinking algae wafers?

ericm--yay, a new cory fan!

My cories love frozen bloodworms and frozen mysis shrimp as treats. For the majority of the time, I feed them hakari sinking wafers and wardley's shrimp pellets.

I went to the lfs to buy some cories and since they were kinda out of stock, they only had albino cories and blue cories. So i went with the blue cories and bought 4 of them. I just wanted to know if anyone has heard of them before. Their scientific name is Corydoras nattereri, and I know they like a temperture of 21-24C (69-75F) and a pH of 6.5-7.5 . They kind of usually have a blue tinge to them but most likely are kind of a grey colour like the ones I bought. I just wanted to know if anyone else knew any more info on these. Heres a pic:

Yes, they should be. My tank has been running for only about five weeks, and I just bought some ottos today. Just make sure your tank water is pretty clean, and you don't have any fish that will bother them. They should turn out all right.

My tanks only been running for about over a month and i really have an algae problem. Do you think if I do a long acclimating process they would be fine?

At best, it should have been running for at least a year. At worst, maybe a month. It depends on the water quality, and how they were acclimated, whether they were stressed-out at the store, etc.

They'll have a feast in my tank. I have a massive algae problem on all of my plants, especially thread algae. How mature should the aquarium be? I know that otos can be easily stressed.

Edit: Oh and they like algae wafers don't they?

Good choice with the ottos, too! I just picked up three ottos today, and I couldn't be happier! They've been munching away on algae, and haven't shown much stress. Just be sure that you give them enough food, I would suggest putting a little bit of zucchini or something in your tank every once in a while. They seem to like nibbling on veggies. Ottos should eating almost all the time, or they'll starve.

Yes! By all means, go for two more of them! That will make them much happier, anyways. They will do just fine with leftover flake food, but you need to make sure they get plenty. I like to supplement my cories' diets with sinking algae wafers, they go nuts over them.
