Check out Marting Thoene's article. He and a crew of guys hang out on the loach forum, are helpful and friendly, and are experts in breeding/identifing/sexing "Broneo suckers"/"Hillstream loaches"/etc.

After you've browsed those links, I'd emphasise one apsect of the care of these fishes. They like cooler temperatures.

It's not unreasonable to keep some species as low as 18°C. Too warm an aquarium will shorten their lives. This makes for some interesting logistics if you're planning to keep them in anything other than a species aquarium.

Another point I'd emphasise is current. These fishes hail from fast flowing waters in the wild, so setting up a long aquarium with a decent current from powerheads and other motor-driven filters is the way to go. Give them fast, cool water and you've dealt with something like 75% of the maintenance issues at a stroke. From that point on, it's the technicalities of feeding that will prove to be your next hurdle.

Unless you can find compatible fishes that share their propensity for cooler temperatures, I'd suggest that they should properly reside in a species aquarium. Whatever you do, do NOT put them in an aquarium with 'sauna loving' fishes such as Venezuelan Rams or Discus, even though the pH and hardness values might be compatible.
