Hey all,

Im thinking of getting a BN pleco for my 56 gal tank with my lonely Green Terror (who at 1.5" is not residing in a 20 until it gets set up and cycled).

My Terror I had before had a pleco for a tank mate (not sure what kind) for 6-7 years before the Terror died and the pleco was given away.

So I know a BN should be ok but would Cories become a meal even if introduced with the Terror being so small?

Thanks
Kyle

Given the well-deserved reputation of Green Terrors, you should consider a catfish that is capable of withstanding any assaults that the Green Terror is likely to embark upon.

Doradid catfishes (e.g., Raphael Cats) are superbly equipped to fend off even the nastiest aquarium bully. Covered from head to tail in heavy armour with rows of visible spines for protection, and heavily reinforced dorsal and pectoral rays as additional defensive weapons, the typical Doradid is, in effect, an aquatic main battle tank. Even among big, bad-tempered Cichlids, only a specimen that is a completely psychotic berserker will try attacking a Doradid. And there are plenty of large Doradid species that will be more than amply equipped to tell the Green Terror where to get off as it gets larger. Planet Catifsh has a nice selection of big, heavily armoured spiny Doradids to choose from. Browse at leisure, and pick a species that suits.
