Luke8186 Fish Addict Posts: 876 Kudos: 218 Votes: 1 Registered: 09-Jan-2003 | My girlfriend and i have had our tank set up two weeks We have had bronze corys in the tank since wednesday Today is saturday morning, and we have woken up to discover they have spawned eggs everywhere Obviously really happy with the environment Have done some research. Our likelihood of raising fry is slim. We have no breeder tank etc etc. We are going to make infusoria to feed them. They are in a 2ft tank. 3 of them. 1 female, 2 male. They also have as company three female guppies and 8 neon tetras. Do we have any chance of raising some of the 300eggs to adulthood? thoughts opinions? Thanx |

You don't have any major egg eaters in the tank, and with three hundred eggs, you have a good chance of seeing at least a few of them grow up. If the tank is well oxygenated there is a better chance of hatching the eggs. You can add an airstone or similar device near the largest grouping of eggs to help. Good luck with them! |

The biggest threat to the eggs are the guppies and tetras. If you keep them well fed and if there are a lot of distractors like plants and crevices, then most of the eggs will be fine. When the cories hatch, they will be large relative to other egg-laying fry, so most should be all right past that point. Congratualtions, and good luck. |

Goodluck & hope you'll be able to have lots of Corydoras. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Good luck and have fun watching the cute little baby corys! Inky |
