I have 2 BN plecs on hold that got in today at my lfs. They are holding them till saturday, but could I get them on friday. I dont normally buy fish that are just in but I want to get them out of the lfs tank before they start to beat each other.

Do you have somewhere where to put them?. Maybe a small tank, so you can buy them immediatly & not wait till they start fighting. If you are confident of you LFS & they have good healthy fish, i would put them straight in the tank.

if the fish seem healthy then you should be ok. but just beware that they may have something riding along that you don't want to introduce to your tank. a 5g setup is not that expensive if you want to get a little tank to qt the new fish. you can even fill it with established tank water so you don't have to worry about cycling it as a qt tank.
