I bought a couple of these, named as Jullii in the lfs but are they?

Trilineatus. You can see the three lines that run down its body which are not as obvious in julii. Also, reticulations on the head (rather than small spots) are usually more indicative of trilineatus; this is not a hard-fast rule as some trilineatus have spotted heads. Julii are actually very rare. It's similar to Debauwi Catfish being a trade name for Pareutropius buffei, a relative of Pareutropius debauwi.

Well I actually like the wiggly patterns on the Trillineatus better anyway, so I'm happy.

I told you that the LFS make mistakes in naming them..... Yes, they are C.trillineatus & they're very nice.

C.julii are spotted & the C.trillineatus are more like lined. Both are very nice species & at the moment, i have about 14 C.trillineatus that are still quite small & hope to breed them in the future.

14 Trillineatus, wow that must be a spectacular sight. Any chance of a photo?

I saw the photo of a trio of yours all lined up like little aeroplanes.

Well, they are in a 3 foot planted tank, so most of the time they hide underneath the Java Ferns & Anubias. With them i also have 6 C.aeneus albino, 2 Otos, 9 Black Widow Tetras, 12 Rummynose Tetras, 1 Lemon Tetra & 1 C.reticulatus.

Quite difficult to picture them, but you can see the tank setup in my pictures link.
