![]() | Can Bristle Nose see in the dark? |

If I put it out when the lights go out at about 9:00pm, will my peppermint bristle nose be able to see it is there and find it and eat it? ![]() |

I got 2 in my 55 gal, one of them would only come out at night and the other one is still active in when the lights are on! ![]() Gee !!I think I just learned somthing new!! |

The female she is usually visible during the daylight hours though she doesnt do a lot of swimming. At night they are usually out and will chew on the algae waffers I drop in every two or three days. Last night I put in some cucumber and they didn't want it. Maybe the zebras will eat it today otherwise out it comes. |

Most nocturnal or crepuscular fishes have a very well developed lateral line system for the purpose. Chances are your Bristlenose Plecs will use that for navigation, and use scent and taste to detect food. ![]() |
