I purchased two of these loaches yesterday, labelled lizard loach but could not find any info about them on the internet. Could they be Batic loach? (Neomacheilus triangularis). Does anyone have any experiences on these fish? Thanks for your help.

Looks like a redtail zebra loach to me. Possibly a zodiac loach. Pics are kinda dark. Better pic possible?

The closest match I can find is Schistura similis.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

In my experience, when kept singly, S. similis and related species are markedly aggressive towards cohabitants, incessently nipping fins and consuming juvenile fish outright. I don't know whether the presence of conspecifics would mute these tendencies.

I had a redtail zebra a few years ago it was pretty peaceful, but once in a while it would get pretty aggresive, mostly when it was feeding time.
