Not necessarily. How big is this fish, and how much do you feed it? It could just be that the fish isn't very shy, and is willing to venture out and feed during the day. Just a thought.

he is about 1inch and there are usually always extra flakes for him as the cories cant get every last on so a few is left behind for him,and once a week i feed him about 3 algea wafers w/the cories and him share these 3 algea wafers usually last for a period of about a day to 2 days @ the most.

I would not worry to much I have 4 clown plecos (which I believe are the same as candy strip) and all of mine venture out to eat in the day as well as the night. I am sure he is fine. Most likely what he is doing is eating up the algae from the rocks, wood and glass at night and in the day eating the food that you supply for the fishes and cories.

No, clown plecos and candy stripe plecos are two different fish. Clown plecs are panaques, and not good algae eaters, while candy stripe plecs are peckoltias, and pretty good at cleaning up algae.

Instead of feeding three algae wafers at one time, once a week, I would spread out the feedings. That way, the fish aren't hungry part of the week, and there is less wasted food.

if your pleco is comfortable enough in your tank, then eating during the day is no big deal. nothing wrong with snacking during daylight hours if a tasty morsel is around.

i agree with sirbrooks completley about extending the feeding routine.

It is fine that your plec is eating in the light in fact thats pretty good for a plec. It is nocturnal though so i would still feed it after the lights are out. Just cause then he will be able to get more food and it is natural for him/her to eat at night. Good luck w/ it
