Has anyone kept these guys? I am thinking about one or for a 20 long species only tank. I know the dont get much bigger than 8" and are pretty inactive.

They don't move that much, stay buried under the substrate during the day, and eat anything that fits in their mouths.

Basically, that's going to be one boring species tank.

Everything you need to know about Chaca chaca, otherwise known as the Frogmouth Catfish.

Basically, it's a sedentary ambush predator with a HUGE mouth in relation to its body size. While some reports suggest that it is possible to wean young specimens onto dead foods, the species is likely to be highly variable in this respect, and some specimens may well require the regular sacrifice of live fishes to keep them happy.

If you furnish its aquarium to resemble its natural habitat, you will have one other problem - the fish will be superbly camouflaged against bogwood and any dark substrate, so if you DO run with a natural looking habitat aquarium for the fish, you might have difficulty seeing the fish! Which means you could end up with an aquarium containing a live fish that is about as action packed as the duct tape cam ...
