i have a male bn that when his fins are up and promanant he is spotted all over, then his fins relax and he changes colour and his body then becomes like a square patch arrangement, is this normal.

Can you post any pictures?.

When the fins are closed, you cannot see any of the BN spots & patterns.

when the bns fins are closed it appears as a square patten and when they are open it becomes spotted, on a goggle search some forms of bns can change there appearance by either mood, stress, or surroundings depending how they feel, but i will try to photo the changes
