One of my clown loaches has developed a bruise/boil white in colour on his nose. I have seen that before in clowns when I bring them home from the LFS, but this guy was in the tank already.

I dont know what it is, or how to treat it. The clown seems fine, swims okay, eats well.

With the others it resolved itself, but this li'l fellow has had it for a week now.

Please Help!

Clowny.

It would be VERY helpfull if you could get a picture.

I never seen it on any clown before.

ALso, like always, what are water parims?

Do you have access to any good medications? (like pimafix, or melafix)?

I dont have a camera, but it looks like a little pimple. He got it after I removed all the decorations to catch the yoyos. I think I may have stressed him out.

Water is clean, no problems with other fish in the tank, just this clowny.

He's eating well, sleeping well, doing well otherwise.

I would say you scared him, and he hit his head off of something.

But I would honostly watch it out, and if it gets worse medicate it.

He's been like this for a week now. The other fellows got better in a couple of days, so I think it may be time to medicate.

What do you think?

Got melafix? It's a pretty good precaution if it is an injury or light infection.

Clownygirl, just in case you didn't get time to bookmark the sites for Waterlife that I posted in the chat room, here they are again:

Waterlife Fish Meds

Page for Myxazin

Distributor Information for India

Since I've used Myxazin with Panda Corys in the past with no ill effects (and a pretty decent success rate), I think it's safe to assume that it is safe with other scaleless fish too. It claims to be plant and filter safe, and I haven't seen any evidence of a mini-cycle being triggered after it has been used, so I think for once the claims are based upon substance. Myxazin is cited as a suitable treatment for fin and body rot, and ulcers on fishes.

I used terramycin 250 meg which has erythromycin in it with is like a common med for birds and fish and human babies

His bump is much smaller now, and he is doing fine. I think I dont need to re-med the tank.

I think Myxacin has erythromycin too, but I couldnt get to it.

Thanks for all your support
