My clown only gets vegetables(Cucumbers, apples, etc.) and Algae wafers. Is this a good diet? I have trouble feeding it in the open as it only eats at night.

mine eats pretty much the same things...make sure you have some driftwood in your tank because these guys need it to rasp on...it's a very important part of thier diet
Also, mine will go after frozen bloodworms every once in a while

That's really fine. Just make sure that he's eating the food & not other fish.

Houston, What types of bottom feeders do you have? I want to get a group of loaches but was worried that they would eat all the food I set out for the plecos.Inasmuch as they are much more active and do eat at night.
Jenbabe, I have two pieces of driftwood on opposite sides of the tank and each has claimed one piece as his own territory. How do you get them to eat frozen bloodworms as my other fish eat them up before they reach the ground. Even if they did reach the ground the others would find the worms and eat them as my plecs only venture out at night.

Loaches won't eat bogwood, whereas clowns will. Therein lies your solution.

We're talking about panaqolus here. Too much protein is actually detrimental for them.
