I just purchased a common pleco (4cm) and is currently in my 2ft fry tank. It planted with mostly Anubias and a few corkscrew wal and some Elodea/Egeria. Its mainly full of guppy fry with a tiny internal filter with filter wool around it. Its only been in the tank for only 1 hour...his feeding on the cory catfish waffer but doesnt seem to move much. Im going to add some driftwood and plants in the tank so it can munch on some wood.

His home is only temporary...until i find a larger tank...his goin to be in the fry tank. Just wondering if any special care is needed for them and what types of foods he love to munch on.

I can't think of any special care that the fish would need, since the common pleco is so hardy. As for food, slices of zucchini or cucumber will be greedily devoured (most likely at night), and algae wafers will be eaten as well. Plecos will eat live foods as well, and aren't above munching on resting fish fry. If you notice that some of the baby guppies are disappearing, you know who to blame...

In what size tank? From what I've read about them, common plecos can become nasty towards other Loricariid tankmates as they age, especially if there aren't enough caves for every fish.

I wouldn't trust a Common Pleco with BN's.
