Forgive me if I might ask a question that has been asked before, but Cories and Planted did
not return a result in the search function.

As you might guess (from the intro above), my question is if it is feasible to have cories in a
planted tank that also has its ground covered with plants, let’s say dwarf sag or glosso.

Would they like it at all in there or do they need gravel to eat their food from?

Thanks,

Ingo

Corydoras will be fine in a Planted tank.
I don't see any problems.

Shouldn't be any problem at all. If there's food, they'll find it

Yeah. Though cories do forage though the substrate for food, they will also check plant leaves and root systems for edibles. They won't have any trouble finding grub, because they have such a keen sense of smell.

One word of caution. If you happen to go with a Corydoras species that gets rather large, make sure that your plants will be able to take a little knocking around. My cories get frustrated when confronted with a barrier of plants, and they often try to force their way through. I bet that a three-inch cory could knock out any plants that weren't firmly rooted in the substrate, especially if it had help from its buddies.

I have to agree your corries will be fine...your plants on the other hand might be uprootednot that my sweet loving little corries would uproot anything in the tank

If you have a pug or no of Pugs, corries are a good comparison when it comes to food...if there is food anywhere in site or smell, or even thought they corries as well as the pugs will find it...plant away, just don't get too frustrated if they uproot anything and everything.
