![]() | Cories in a 10g? |

I'm getting a couple dwarf gouramis soon. I want some bottom feeders but the smallest ones I can think of are cories. I know they need to be in groups but since my aquarium is small, could I have a small group of them, like 4 albino cories? |

As long as your water is good, etc. Don't add all those fish at once. I would add the two gouramis first wait a couple of weeks and then go for the corys. By the way there is a pygmy cory that is even smaller than the albinos. Here is the link: http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/pygmycory.xm My Scapes |

These are the largest cories around (that I can think of), and can top three inches in length. Though three inches doesn't seem like a whole lot, it is when you talk about several of these fish in only a ten gallon tank. Instead, some smaller cories such as pandas or the dwarf cories (habrosus, pygmaeus, hastatus) would be much better. Also, if you do go with a group of the smaller cories, six would be much better than four. The more cories you have, the more social they tend to be, and the happier they are. ![]() |

Not only are they among the larger ones but yes they're very active mine make full use of a 4' tank. Some of the smaller cories were already suggested, however smaller cories have been known to be among some of the more delicate of the cories. If you do get a school of 6 you will need to keep up on weekly, possibly twice weekly tank maintence. I'd also suggest some live plants in the tank. ^_^ [hr width='40%'] It only hurts when I breathe" ![]() |

I'm definitely not getting any of those. I don't really have time for twice weekly water changes since I go to school in the morning and work til late in the evening. Can ya'll suggest any type of small bottom feeder, if any, that don't require that much attention but are cool to have in a 10g? If there aren't any then I guess I should wait til I get a bigger aquarium. ![]() |

If you're not overfeeding, and keep up with weekly changes you dont need any. ^_^ [hr width='40%'] It only hurts when I breathe" ![]() |

They're all tiny. Next on the list size wise is Pandas, but Pandas need scrupulous attention to aquarium cleanliness otherwise they'll expire pretty quickly. With the four dwarf species I've just mentioned, you could have 6 in theory without overloading your filter. But if I were you, I'd rethink the dwarf gouramis if you decide to get Pandas, because Pandas like it cool (around 22°C or 23°C) while the gouramis want nearer 26°C. ![]() |
