I have always been a tank enthusiast but just now have been able to delve in to it as much as I would like... or starting to at least. I am about to start my 120 tank build out of plywood for my living room. My question for here is, I have four Cory cats, two albino one peppered and one that i think but am not very sure is a spotted Cory (punctatus) My question about my four very cute tank mates is will they group together though they are of different genius being of the same species? They seem to be sort of grouping a little but the albies like to hang out the most together. I think that when I split the 29 with an 18 because my 5 year old daughter wanted a hamster and she is getting a guinea pig soon decided to trade her new 29 for a tall 18 so she can have a place for the new guinea pig I will be putting the two albinos and maybe 2-4 more with some otocinclus vittatus probably one of them, and she will be taking the rummies and the pristellas and the red finned shark. In the 29 I will be getting more spotted and peppered. and then in the 120 I will be getting some pandas and other verities. But if they wont group together across the different varieties I need to know so I can buy enough of each variety. |

Now, which one was the one with the rummies and the guinea pig in the same tank:%)? About Cories: The somewhat school with other cories of different type, but certainly enjoy the company of their own kind much more. If possible, you should have at least 4 (better 6) of each kind. Now again, who is supposed to go in which tank? Ingo ![]() |

I think that you should go and buy at least two more albino's and three peppered cory's. Then if you have enough room without overstocking the tank, you should get 3 more of the unknown cory's. I'v been dealing with albino cories for about 9 months and since I put 5 new cories in with my two old ones, they have never been happier. ![]() |

Then again I think that my fish have more personality than they probably do... but he was up at the top of the tank and was hanging out next to the larger gourami for most of that day. It was fun to watch. My only problem is that I have to go to my daughters room to watch them, I am really hoping I can make this 120g tank project pan out so that I can have heards of them, I think i am going to have 8 of at last count 6 or 7 differnt verieties. I actually may get a bunch of 10-20 gal tanks and try to bread them I just love the little buggers, and want all to apreciate them. well I am being booted of the computer but my better half but she promised that I have a good fish related suprise for my birthday tomarrow i am hoping that its my 18 gallon... but we will see ... More to follow, if anyone else is a total cory nut please drop me a line with your experiances i would really like to setup my tank to be more suitable for them to have more fun and be more themselves if i can. Oh does anyone know where to get driftwood for a good price online I cant find any at the three fish stores locally. Thanks! also has anyone had any experiance with this diy idea http://www.duboisi.com/diy/BNdiygrotto/bndiygrotto.htm |
