Well, I took another trip to a LCPS. In the assorted cories tank, I picked up 8 cories. Five are pandas, but the other 3 are a bit of a mystery. After looking at PlanetCatfish, I think I have a female barbatus. That leaves two, that appear to be the same species. They have a guapore-like body. You know, the sort of horizontally squashed face? The markings are a bit confusing. They look sort of like the first picture of a male undulatus, seen [link=here.]http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/callicht/corydora/509_1.php" style="COLOR: #00EE00[/link] They also resemble C04, sipaliwini, and nanus. Their color is rather dull, just the tan-grey. There are 3 darker horizontal stripes, with the top and bottom on fading up and down, respectively. I can't get a good picture to save my life, so >.<.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

Hmm... My only guess is that they are similar to my own unknown corys, probably a species in the Corydoras elegans complex (which desperately needs to be sorted out).

And while we're on the topic of unknown corys, I picked up some of these 2.5" monsters at work today. They were being sold as Corydoras arcuatus.

I created a thread on PlanetCatfish about them, in hopes that Ian Fuller will help identify them. You might want to do the same.

Without pictures, it is all just speculation. There are so many similar Corydoras species out there, it is often very hard to get a correct identification even with good photos. I second using Planet Catfish, there are some real Corydoras experts over there.

Oh, and nice cories, Natalie. They certainly look like C. arcuatus, but they are huge!

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

They have been identified as C20.

Hmm. When I see long-nosed variants of arcuatus the first name that comes to mind is simulatus. And PLanetCatfish's illustrations of simulatus look a fair bit like those just posted.
