I have kept panda cories and albino cory. My pandas were very active and always enjoyed some worms/ shrimp pellets. My albino cory didnt do so well but he liked to follow my spiny loach wherever he went.

just relized i have no pics of my panda ill see if i can find one later on.

Just for fun, I'd like to see how many species of Corydoras are owned by frequenters of this forum, and how many people have each. I like cories, so this thread will (if it gets off the ground) help me see who else likes them, and vice-versa. If you choose to respond, just say what species of Corydoras you have, how many, and say a little about them, if you will. Pictures would be cool, too.

For starters, I have five longnosed cories (C. septentrionalis), and five C. habrosus. I've had each for over a month now, and they have grown on me. The habrosus are always swimming around the tank, while the longnosed cories just lie in wait for food. I used to own six C. polystictus, but they were wiped out by an unknown disease. I may be getting another shoal of cories in soon, but I don't know which. Suffice to say though, I really like cories.

I have a fairly good picture of a few longnosed cories, but the habrosus never stay still.

I have:
5 Emerald Corys (brochis)
2 Simillis Corys
2 Spotted Tail Corys (Corydoras caudimaculatus)
4 Pepper Corys
2 Trilineatus Corys
Of all of these I found the brochis less active during the daytime hours.
Most active are the Spotted Tails, then the Trilineatus. The Pepper Corys, when there are stressed, hubble in a bunch.

This is a site telling the difference of a cory to a brochis.http://www.scotcat.com/factsheets/brochis_splendens.htm

I keep 3 species of cories.

I have 6 sterbais cories in a species only 29 gallon tank.

I have 6 bronze and 7 emerald cories in a 75 gallon community.

My favorites are obviously the sterbais.

I've kept albino, leopard and panda. The first two were lost to nOOb errors, and the panda's were lost to some unknown disease around the same time as Nicks were. I've thought about replacing them, but with the SW on the way I haven't found the money.

Yes, the emerald "cories" should be kept in groups. Six is a good number, with more being better. The irony though, is that they are a species of Brochis, not cories. Still, groups are best for this social fish.

And, if you have cories, please name the species (if you can), and state how many of each you have. Thanks!

well i don't have any corys at the moment..but here was my list:
5 C.melentius
2 bronzes
5 emerald 'corys'
6 C.trilineatus
then i made the huge mistake of mistaking a aggresive batik loach (neomacheilus triangularis) for a peaceful zipper loach. the batik chased my corys and then they were too frightened to feed (even after i removed the batik loach), then they got skinny and died. but i did save 3 trilineatus and they went back to the store i'll get into corys again for a new tank though..

Wow, there are a lot of cories on this site! I didn't expect so many people to respond! I guess that deep down, we all love cories.

That's a very nice C. adolfoi you have there, Dani. They are one of the most attractive Corydoras species.
