Can anyone tell me what the normal behavior of a corie would look like i just got some and am curious so i could look for signs of disease, stress and sickness later on.

Depends on the cory species, but all have pretty similar behavior. Spend most of their time at the bottom of the tank. Some times swim mid level and even up to the top of the tank. If they spend too much time though at the top of the tank, I'd be worried. When I say they go to the top, they go right up and right back down immediately right away. If you have some floating food such as tubifex worms, they might go up to the top and eat from it. They prefer eating things they find on the bottom. So sinking wafers and shrimp pellets preferablly. They also spend a lot of time with cories of the same species, so school together kind of, or at least stay fairly close to each other. So if a group of them were sitting idly, but 1 moves somewhere, the others will probably follow. Usually don't get scared, so if they see bigger fish or people, they don't seem away. Bad thing is if put with aggressive fish. They agressive fish may bite at them. So the cories would swim away if getting bit or almost bitten. (all info based on my own experience, friend's cories and cories seen at LFS)

My pandas do that very often. I guess that's normal, at least it means that they are active. What kind of corys you have?

Even better. i have bronze corries too. They are great because they are soo resilient to aquarium life.. My corries are the oldest fish in my tank and they are tough.

I just bought cories a few days ago, they act weird in the begging but in a day or two they'll be the hungry little pigs we all know and love.

The last Corydoras that i bought are C.panda. They are quite small & shy. I have 4 of them & they are housed with 7 C.sterbai & 8 C.similis.

The most active Corydoras that i have are the C.aeneus albino & they'll always on the go, especially the fry.
