Well, my quintet of weitzmanis finally came in, and just as I was replanting some glosso/riccia from the 20L, and I must say, they are some of the most lively corydora I've seen in a long while. They are currently in a ten gallon with one young ancistrus fry and several hundred snails of all sorts. The only picture I managed to grab that turned out even slightly decently (due to the cloudy water from the glosso replant) will be up shortly.

Have fun with that. Now people are going to want you to breed them and get some cheaper specimens out into the hobby. Corydoras weitzmani is a great looking catfish, but if I wanted them I'd prefer to wait until the price went down. For my money, C. tukano is just as good and less harmful to the fundage.

While I'm thinking about money, how much did you shell out for them?

I haven't seen tukanos for sale for a LOOOONG while, and even then they were priced pretty harshly (then again, my store charges on the hefty side). I purchased the weitzis for 29 bucks a piece, which is a fair deal, IMO.

pictures (I know my glosso planting is haphazardly, but I prefer the bury-as-much-of-it-as-you-can technique, as it is more expedient and it seemed to work fine in the twenty gal.), and once again, the pictures are a bit blurry from the distance (they're still jumpish) and cloudiness of the water:

In other news, another spawn appeared after cleaning the L-66 tank---the smallest to date, with 12+ eggs, but a spawn nonetheless.

Pics to be had:

Wow, nice fish. I am thinking of turning my 55 gallon into a huge cory play pen and just get swarms of cory and put in some kind of rocks that give them secondary gravel beds or something

MrWizerd, don't forget to include intricate pieces of bogwood in your planned Cory play pen - especially if you can grow Java Moss and Java Ferns on them. If the experience of my Pandas is anything to go by, Corys LOVE intricate bogwood with cave holes in. My Pandas have more or less commandeered the bogwood 'boot' in my aquarium as their own.

Honestly, if you want to invest in ideal corydoras real estate, I'd stick with rounded river sand maybe 1/2" deep for your tank, as it really is the *perfect* substrate for such fish.
