I was told my the owner of a fish store that Dojo loaches don't eat snails. Was wondering if this is true? I don't know myself but this info came from someone who also told me Endlers are painted fish so I figured I should ask before buying.

Thanks!

my pair sometimes suck them up in their mouths while scouring for food, but they do not eat them- the snails are always quickly spit out.

regardless, they are awesome loaches to care for. unless you must have something for snail control, i would highly recommend them.

Thank you both for your replies. I like my snails and don't want them ate. That's why I figured I'd ask. The Dojos looked so friendly, I did bring two home for my goldfish tank. They get along great but I might now have to get more for my 55gal.

Sorry your loach passed away, ANgel Eel.

Only botia loaches (like clowns) eat snails. Dojos, kuhlis, and other non-botias don't.
