Definitely dyed...

They usually start getting them in this time of year, along with dyed green ones, and start selling them as "Christmas Corys".

A bright pink spot? It sounds like a dyed fish to me. I do know that there are some businesses who "tattoo" albino Corydoras aeneus in different flourescent colors, and often the dye is injected near the tail.
