I recently got a farlowella to finish off my tank. I originally got him because he looked so awesome, and he would also eat some algae off the tank walls.

Well, he's done too good of a job of algae eating, and now I'm afraid he's got little left to eat. What other foods would work well for this guy? I read somewhere that you could buy algae food for it, or even putting in green vegetables? What's the best idea? Everything else in the tank eats flakes and frozen brine shrimp, so I'm not sure what to do for the farlowella. Thanks for your help.

You could feed it sinking algae wafers (make sure you don't get Hikari, those don't have enough vegetable matter) or vegetables. I've found that zucchini and cucumber are the most popular veggies with my algae eaters, though your farlowella might like something different. If you want to feed the fish a veggie, just slice off a bit, then weigh it down or attach it to something.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Great! Thanks, I'll give the veggies a try, and if it doesn't seem to like it, I'll go get some algae wafers.

I just wanted to double check to make sure it was safe to just throw vegetables in my tank without doing anything to them first. Thanks again.
