mine is a similar size. large chunks of zucchini (with the flesh exposed) is quickly turned into swiss cheese overnight. it inhales the smaller sinking pellets, and the larger algea wafers are also devoured with gusto. it also rasps on a tiny piece of driftwood. it munches on kale, but it seems to just snack on it.

i have read other posts suggesting broccoli, but i have not had much luck with it. basically, try various veggies to see what yours prefers.

Larger end pardalises need some protein in their diet, and will not hesitate to come to the surface of the water during feeding time to steal a bit of flake from the other fish to get it.

mine LOVES live black worms as a treat, but you'll have black worms in your gravel forever if you aren't careful

My pleco comes to the surface for the occasional cichlid pellet but prefers algae wafers and shrimp pellets. As for veggies, of course zuchini but also cucumber, tomato, watermelon and various types of lettuce. I also have a piece of wood I bring in from the pond for a live algae treat.

i never tried tomato or watermelon- sounds cool though. how do you prepare them? seedless watermelon? do you rinse out the tomato's liquids prior to putting it in the tank?
