I found a good ad in the newspaper today for 70 gallon so might be getting that instead. Would this be enough space?

I'm still not sure what other fish to keep with it. Maybe a BN pleco or common pleco. Possibly a gourami, some cory cats,or some schooling tetras? What are some fish that you all like that could go with It?

Yeah they'd be fine. I've had neons in with my BGK and MOST of them have survived I've had cherry barbs as well and they were fine as well, so it's not as if the WILL eat smaller fish, it's just that they may be tempted

could i keep rams and angels with my BGK???
Yes, I have 2 angels and 2 Bolivian rams in with a BGK and they're all fine.
hatchetfish, tetras, cories, and a pleco/synodontis for a 90 gallon?
Tetras are at risk of being food for both the BGK and the Angels if you're talking neons or cardinals and I'd swap the plec for a bristlenose when you're talking 90 gallon tank.

Personally I would say the minimum would be a 4x2x2ft to keep an average fully grown BGK. And that's not ideal either, at least a 5x2x2ft and the BGK would be much happier

LOL thanks smelly! I've now got 3 BGKs and Chief is still powering along

The 70 gal tank would be ok(long term)if it was wide which is what they need, but if it was the normal width (around 15inch?)you'll find the BGK will feel very cramped as it grows which despite what the books tell you happens alot sooner than you think

All those fish could live with a BGK, granted the tetras you get are larger species or deep-bodied ones.

If that tank is appropriate or not will depend on it's width. It would be best if it were at least 20" wide, if not more, if this is to be a permanent home.

Yes but that site says clown loaches can live in a 50g as well... which isn't true. They want to sell fish... never trust anyone why wants to sell you a fish.

Ok i looked on alot of sites and they all said 20" of size. then i went on this site and it says they require a minimum of 50 gallon tank with good filtration - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?siteid=21&pCatId=857

Some Knives get about 4 feet long (clowns and/or royal I think...I can't remeber...), but BGK don't...
