Just wondering has anyone had any experience with these nice fish. Because they were on special for $20 each for 6cm! They are usually about $50 for that size around my area. They are with my albino bn in my planted tank. Seems to love the plants and driftwood, so i guess they are ok.

Any special requirements for them?

Steve

That depends on a lot. Are you refering to a gold nugget pleco? I believe "chocolate" plecos are called golds sometimes A bit better description will help I'm guessing they are gold nuggests though, and I'll direct you to [link=this thread]http://fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Bottom%20Feeder%20Frenzy/57433.html?200504041744" style="COLOR: #FFFFFF[/link], which in summary says that L18 and L81 are both called gold nugget plecos, and are just about impossible to distinguish. L18 is the larger species, and can be aggressive towards other plecos. They also need meat in their diet and a large tank.

Can you get the L number for the species in question?

They could possibly be goldy plecos, L014. They're much more expensive than gold nuggets, so I'm thinking not. Probably a gold nugget, but common names aren't great pleco identifiers.

I agree with SirBrooks. It sounds like a gn. I had one a long time ago.

You forget that in Australia, baryancistrus are nearly as rare as scobis, and thusly go for much more than 20 aussie bucks. An L number would help.
