Hi, Need some help identifying a fish I have.

About 1 1/4" long at present, convex tail, brown, small white spots, algae eater, looks very much like a bristle nose catfish EXCEPT there are protrusions or bristles ?

Do these come at maturity or is there something else it could be ?

Except there are bristles? If so, it is a bristlenose pleco. If not, it could still be a bristlenose, just a juvenile or a female which has not grown many or any at all. Failing that, your fish could be some other species of pleco, as there are well over a hundred. A picture would help, if possible.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."
