It depends on if you have a tank large enough for it.

If you do, $15 is a good price. They go for at least 20-30 around here, at least at the stores that are good quality.

Let's see, expensive plecos. Well, the most well-known one is the zebra pleco, L-46 I believe. I'm sure there are some extremely rare plecos that you practically have to hire some special Peruvian guy to go find one for you, and they'd cost thousands. But as far as regular, easy to find (relatively) plecos, the zebra takes the cake.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

Blue eyed panaques, by far, cost the most of any loricariid I know of; yes, zebras included. In fact, they go for thrice as much as your average L-46. Several species have "bounties", so to speak, on them which go up to five digits in value, but these have never been seen alive in the home aquaria, so it's unlikely that you'll be able to ever get your hands on one.

As for the gold nugget--it is very unlikely that it will reach adulthood in your aquarium, but yes, 15 dollars is a good price for that size of a gold nugget. You're looking at around a 80+ gallon tank for a full grown small large spot.

Our store once had the oppotunity to buy an 18" scarlet pleco (and one of the rare species, too), and it would have cost us $800 to purchase. That means for a customer, the retail price would have been close to $2000.

We didn't buy it, of course. There aren't too many pleco enthusiasts around here...

I have not heard of any pseudacanthicus species going up to 800 dollars wholesale. They are fairly common, and are, aside from the fact that they get pretty hefty, relatively cheap. I guarentee you they won't even touch the price of a blue eye, much less a mohawk bristlenose. We can stock relatively large cactus and scarlets at about 200 bucks a piece. Even dragon high fins go for more.
