I still have 10 of my baby cories (not really babies anymore they are around 5 months old now) in my 20g along with a bn and a tetra

I am finally getting around to spending some time and money on the tank and think that in order to restock it i will need to remove some of the cories ...

Now the question is.. how many should i keep?
I am tossing up between a school of 6 or a school of 4 ..

Any advice?

And how do i go about relocating the others?

IMO I would keep 6 if it was me. Cories just seem to do better in larger groups. What type are they and what are your other stocking plans?

They are albino cories. I have kept just 2 in previous years (which is where the babies came from)

i just dont want to overstock on the bottom feeders.. as for future plans for the tank.. im starting to plant it in slowly and am thinking along the lines of maybe a couple of gouramis and tetras or a few schools of tetras..im not sure which ones to go with.. if you have any other ideas for stocking it would also be appreciated.. the tank has just had an 'empty' look for so long i want some activity in it..
so wishing it was bigger so i could have angels!

Youre planning on keeping them in the 20g tank
right?
I would keep 6 also.
Cory's should always be kept in a minimum group
size of 6.

I would do six. Twelve would be too much on a 20g and you would get overstocked

Call the LFS and tell them that you have high quality
young catfish available,
and you are willing to do an exchange for cash or
in store credit.
Thats how I sell my young fish,
in exchange for cash, or sometimes store credit.

i took 4 of my babies to the LFS who said they would take them however couldnt give me anything for them... which was ok as long as they are going to good homes!
the remainding 6 seem to be fine and have settled into their own grouop following each other around the tank

so now we will have to redo my tank..

thanks for all your help! much appreciated
