![]() | How to transfer cories |
Fishyandrew45![]() Hobbyist Posts: 137 Kudos: 98 Votes: 0 Registered: 16-Jul-2004 ![]() ![]() | last time I tried to net my cories they got caught in the net, I had to cut the net to free them. Is there an easier way to get them without them getting caught in the net? Thanks in advance -Andrew |

Maybe you can try using some very fine nets & you shouldn't have any problems. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Then I use a hand to support the fish in the net. If the fish is being transferred to another container (pre-filled with aquarium water from the original aquarium) then I gently evert the net (turn it inside out) under the water, so that the fish can swim out without entangling itself too badly. Thus far, I've not had an incident of a stuck Corydoras in the 10+ years of the operational lifetime of the Panda Fun Palace™. Mind you, trying to catch 4mm fry is a different proposition altogether. Especially in a 2ft aquarium, containing gravel against which said fry is perfectly camouflaged unless it moves.
